It seems people have very personal ways of using email. This is to be applauded - if computers do not make things easier for us as individuals, why do we use them?

Well, in this session we are going to talk about using the Apple (or Mac) Mail handler - ie doing all your email activity without using a broser - and Web browser handling of email.

First thing is: what do you want to do?

Perhaps the very first thing is to get some concepts clear.

Email addresses

Before we start, we need to be clear about our email address. What is it? where does it come from? can it be changed? and lots more...including what does it cost and how safe is it?

What is happening to iinet?

See https://help.iinet.net.au/iinet-email-messaging-company

iiNet has made the decision to stop providing email services across iiNet and all subsidiary brands in 2023. This change will help us focus on creating better experiences for our core products: internet and mobile.

You can opt-in to transfer your iiNet email address to another Australian email provider, The Messaging Company. The Messaging Company will become your email provider and most importantly, you will not lose any emails, contacts or calendar events as part of the transfer.

Important: Your internet and Toolbox login details will not be affected by this change.

iiNet provide guidance for keeping old emails etc...
