All New BMUG!!

Yes, we are all new! At our AGM last month we elected a new Committee to develop a new BMUG.

If you love having BMUG to answer your Mac questions, you can still have that - we are always willing to help members help members when we have meetings. We have BMUG assist to help (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), and we publish things in our newsletters (https://www.bellarinemac.org.au/newsletter/past-newsletters) and notes on our website (https://www.bellarinemac.org.au/resources/meeting-notes) and sometimes product reviews (https://www.bellarinemac.org.au/resources/product-reviews) - so plenty of Mac stuff for those who want it.

But our focus is shifting from computers to people - there are so many interesting people in our community but often we don't really know their interests and miss matching ours with theirs. This is our new focus: cross-examining a couple of people each month and linking up all the connections we can make with them.

As the ABC says, "Don't be surprised if you are surprised!"

We have learnt a lot about linking up people from covid times and been able to include people who cannot travel to a single event - we want to continue this - for personal convenience and sometimes necessity. But we all value meeting in person so our aim will be to find ways to link what we hope will be small groups of people meeting together to link in to our sessions and to enjoy each others' presence.

Our plan is to have two people in the spotlight each meeting and to ask them to tell us about themselves, aiming to help others to make connections. Others will be invited to add their stories and ask questions.

Our first victims presenters will be a new Committee member Maureen Foulkes and continuing member Ken Grinter. (We are thrilled to have country people, females and our wonderful males in our new-look diverse committee!). They will open up conversations and we will record their interactions with the participants. The recording will be available for one month only to registered BMUGers (go to https://www.bellarinemac.org.au/join-us/newsletters to add new registrants). We continue to be alert to security and privacy issues.

Please, help us try our new formula and don't hesitate to offer suggestions as to what would be good for you.

We are hoping to see you soon,
